:iagree:

ive seen pics of a 14 incher.

You sure it wasn't a mala? They look very very similar. Probably the hardest to tell apart of all the species, especially with all the different mala varients that there are.

Iv'e gots an 18" common.... I saw you talking about Reds and golds or I would've chimed in earlier. It is by far the most aggressive fish I have ever had. I hear they are jumpers, but mine never gave me a reason to think. I heard of a guy who's wolf jumped out, he didn't find it for a few hours or so after, it was dry to the touch and had fuzz and dust on it. He put it back in the tank and the next morning it was alive and kickin. (He thought for sure it was dead-just looking for a miracle I guess). They are very tough fish. Can survive in low 02. I feed mine anything. Live mice any live fish, beef heart and shrimp. I never attemped to put anything in with him nor will I. I have to becareful cleaning the tank. He hits anything near him. Maybe I should get a vid up or something lol.

seichi had a 14 incher.

So Red Wolves are only best kept in either 1 or 3 count? I'm not very familiar with the fish so I thought I'd ask.

Also, are they prone to try and nip at anything or just swallow what they can fit in their mouth?
