Also, water changes DO take a long time, especially if you wanna take enough time to make sure the new water and the tank water are the same. He loved that fish, so it was either do a poor water change or no water change, which are pretty much the same thing. Pick your poison.

i feel sorry for you but i dont know what your all that sad about, now you can find a girfriend who likes fish too, and they do go well together. theres plenty of women on this site who do a great job. i got home late today from work and my gf fed all the tanks and cleaned the 180.

For JuxtaRoberto: Well, life is full of disappointment. If you can not handle a fish loss, imagine how you feel and handle when you lost someone you love ( mom, dad, wife, husband...etc...). Talking about sensitivity, if my girlfriend were important to me enough, I will get rid of the fish just to make her happy. As a matter of fact, I did get rid of the datnoid, just because my wife does not like it when I feed live feeder.
Good riddance!That goes beyond fish,I see alot of guys in relationships where thier girl hates whatever it is that makes him happy,sportscar,boat,collections or fish.Then he gives up whatever it is and shell still make him miserable only now he doesnt have his hobby.

But I'm sorry, women and fish do mix. They mix very well. If I had to choose two things in this world to combine, it would be women....and fish. The two things one cant live without meshed into a symphony of satisfaction.
