Wood or no wood

I do bi-weekly water changes. I am somewhere between 7.0 and 7.5 right now. I am going to ass more coral to the Magnum tonight during a WC. I am starting to get a slight green alge growing on one piece of DW in just a few places. Is this something to be concerned with???

No nothing to worry about as this is the norm. Sorry knowing nothing about africans but do they not grase on algea to a certain extent anyway?? Have you tested for nitrAtes in your tank as excessive algea growth can be fed by excess nitrAtes.

It is the tannic acid in driftwood that lowers pH, makes the water soft, and turns the water brown. After a few months, the tannic acid should be gone and all the affects mentioned above will no longer occur.
