wood qestions, glass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
On the window just remember that the most important determinate is the height of the tank. Increasing width or length will have much less impact on the size than making it taller.

Will need much much thicker. Use the acrylic size calculator sticky.

Remember with acrylic it is not only a question of what is enough to break, but also what is enough to keep any bowing of the window within reason (bowing looks bad, but too much will also break your seals even if the acrylic dont brea).

new idea - i could buy a clearseal tank 30 iches and use the front and the back for the new front tank. does anybody know how thick the glass is on clearseal.

And how are you going to connect the 2 pieces of glass in the center? with another piece? not great for looks and Sounds risky IMO.

Try looking into real glass. For plywood call lumber supply, hardware store, they will have what you need, and can deliver to you if needed.

For glass call a glass shop or a glass guy, look in the phone book under glass, even a window & door kind of glass shop can send you in the right direction on where to find what you need.

IF your trying to save money look for a proper sized piece of normal glass(used or new), check out the stickys about glass thicknesses and sizes.
