pat u breed turtles..i didnt know that..and ztrip wat makes rosy minnows better then feeders..seein as res are mainly vegietarians...how come u didnt know that...feed it blanched zuchs, and peas, and wat not..

mmmmmmm well RES are more carnivorous as younins but move towards plant matter as they get older.

yeah well the turtle pat caught is not a juvie from the pick looks to be a sub adult..so i would do veggies...or spirulina flakes

Yeah I breed Box Turtles.

He is 4-5" across so yes he is still a juvie.

Why when people say feeders do u all first think of gold fish? feeder fish are a type of small fish that you feed to your bigger fish, etc... Feeder fish could be minnows,guppies,convicts,gold fish, etc.. SO dont bash on him because he said feeders. Nice looken turt btw

Pat, cool. Make sure you get him a uvb(think he'll need one) and a turtle dock. Cool though.

The only natvie freshwater turtles in my state are snapping turtle (introduced), western pond turtle, and the painted.

So theres no way I could collect a red/yellow myself.

there is TONS of lakes and ponds full of red ear sliders.. there just hard to catch..

Hey zoo york, what kind of box turtles do you breed? Right now all I have are two female Eastern Box Turtles, but I used to have a breeding trio of 3 toed and a pair of Gulf Coast box turtles.
