sorry bud, till you get a car, yer kind of screwd. no offense. is it legal to work that young by your local laws, in the states, you need your parents to go with you in some states ?

and yes, people older than you wont take you serious, just how it is, sorry...
The legal age to start working in Australia is 13. Not 2 years ago it was 14 years and 9 months. This is a hobby were age shouldnt determine your level of knowledge, but employers dont see that.

I will not be in a car for at least another 2-3 years, so in the meantime, my mum could drive me when she's not at work. But thats not fair on her.

17 here and got offered a job at my lfs but turned it down since i got school to do and want to focus on that plus i dont have a car to drive anywhere and it is 40mins away. this summer after gr. 12 is done i hope i can still get one there just for the experience

Thats such an amazing lfs! the one near me is horrible to their fish, they're in tiny, filthy tanks.

I wish I were old enough to work somewhere, for now its just babysitting =[. I basically live at the petstore near me, might as well get paid for it, lol.

I've been working at a LFS for about 8 months now, awesome fun, decent pay for my age and 20% off everything.

You make 176,800.00 a year if you work 52 weeks and do not make any overtime. And you are trying to one-up a highschool kid that is excited about working at the LFS????

i was thinking the same thing. kinda pathetic. i make good money also and was not going to throw it in someones face. maybe theres a forum called richstuckupfishkeepers.com you might be more at home there
