I have no idea what Leiterfuhrightkeit is.
But I do know I would never own a show line german shepherd, german or American. From what I've read, the sable coloration was actually the original color of the breed, the saddle stuff you see so often now came later.

Yes, a lot of them, and Dutch shepherds as well. You still see plenty of GSDs out there working though. Not as many as there used to be.
