I think he was referring to the Manzana Ray in the article, not the Chinese/Thai River Ray.

Um, aside from that, could you explain to me the difference between "ambush" and "pounce", to me, it's the same deal.

When you pounce you have to move, when those china rays ambush, they barely lift them selves up a little and the suction of 8 feet lifting off the bottom makes the fish in front of them disappear faster than the eye can see.

Pretty darn amazing.

Sunday night they ran a whole night of programing about monster fish. It was really cool.
They had the Giant Mekong stingrays and a myriad of other monster fish both freshwater and marine.
