if you really do then you need help
haha...j/k. seriosly though, vege eating is far superior over meat eating. and i'm not a tree hugger, i use feeders and love eating lobsters! just sayingwater_baby83;1915342; said:That's disgusting and disturbing on multiple levels. There is no limit to the resources they are willing to devastate. They also need to get their facts right, Whale Sharks are not the largest living, however they are one of the most docile, harmless and social out there, and play a key role in the balancing of marine ecosystems. This animal is already threatened, with populations dwindling quickly.
But does that matter to them, no. They see another way to line their pockets. Will it never end, I mean will they stop at nothing, if you are going to go exhaust a source, why not cockroaches. $-h!t.
fugupuff;1915945; said:We, as Americans, are not entirely guilt free either. The American bisons were once almost hunted to extinction, not just for food, but for sports. Most Europeans are the ones that go hunting for fun, and hang trophies on their walls, including, elephants, tigers, leopards, rhinos. Even our the leader of our nation, Teddy Rosevelt. As we become more educated, we stop hunting animals that are endangered.
Fishing for catch and release, we think is noble, Presiden Bush does it. That's because in this country we have the luxury of throwing the fish back from our private boat and not having to worry about our next meal. Whereas in some countries, the fish endangered or not, is their weekly protein supplement they get!
I'm not defending China's actions, I'm sure we could find flaws in many things they do, but c'mon, some of the comments saying that the world would be better without China as a nation just makes me laugh If they look, half of their products they are using are made in CHINA. If China stopped exported to the U.S., we'd collapse!
I wish all countries could find a sustainable and renewable resource. Like the big head carps found in the mid west of the United States., the redneck are saying that its the Chinese fish invading this country. they round up the fish and sell them to markets for food, its a valuable food fish in the Asian countries, if they don't like that, instead they could ground it up and make fish meal for animal feed, fertilizer, anything! That shows the ignorance in reverse.
If we really cared about the world so much, we'd all be vegetarians, that's the most renewable and ecologically sound practice. People would live longer, healthier. It takes 15 pounds of grain to feed a cow to produce a pound of meat to feed a few for one meal! Get it???? and on top of that, all the methane from the cows, and energy it takes to raise the cattles and produce the meat., the 15 pounds of grain could feed a family for a week or more!
As people become more educated, and standards of living improved, the hunting of animals will slow down, people will realize. How about in Africa, they kill gorillas, kidnap their babies to sell to collectors in the Western countries! They're doing it to feed their family and make a poor living.
Its all a matter of perspective. We as a nation, enslaved human beings for crying out loud. Its not just China, its a global problem, to protect the environment, and to educate the people. Let the one without sin throw the first stone.

Some good points. You're right it is all about perspective. And it is ignorant for anyone to say bad things about china as a whole. As someone who used to work for a major home improvement store I will tell you 98% of even big name merchandise comes from China. Honestly you'd be suprised. But it's not just on the wal-mart/dollar store scale.. literally most of what we buy is china based. And even besides that it's ignorant to sad bad things about an entire country.
But just the same as not everyone in China is eating whale shark for dinner tonight. Not everyone here hunts exotic and rare game. And vise versa. We all have our own moral values and we can't categorize a whole nation as thinking that kind of stuff is ok. Just as I don't want to be put in the same basket as the american guy on VS. hunting elephants for god knows what reason.

First of all, those people had nothing to do with Nepal, and second what kind of a moron would say such a thing! It's like saying all the flooding and tornadoes in the mid US is because all the people had bad karma.
But yeah anyway Fugupuff you are right about unfair reactions especially when we rely on china for so many things. We are just as devastating to the planet. I'm not surprised with global warming either, our highschool parking lot is huge, and almost everyone drives a car, without much carpooling.

whalesharks arent the biggest fish, emi?
and i totally agree, that's horrible. they kill it just because it's there. i'm sure they have other options, or at least an option other than a beautiful mature specimen - of an endangered - species. it's unbelievable sad. education, people.
