Hi all,

so I just got a new black diamond ray and also an RTG arowana. They are currently in quarantine and doing okay however this evening I’ve just noticed quite a lot of small worms on the glass and filters. I believe they are planaria, look too small to be detritus worms. The quarantine tank is completely bare. Should I consider treating? Big clean and water change? The arowana and ray only seem to eat chopped up prawns, they don’t seem to like the Cooked mussels or tilapia I tried. The arowana is sulking since I removed his two buddies this morning (gone to a friends) Any help or advice would be great.
thanks

They are minuscule I can hardly take a picture of them. here’s best I could get, the little white dots. I’d say they are probably 2-3mm long. sorry it’s an awful picture but they are just impossible to photo

If I’m looking at the right thing, it does indeed resemble flatworms. Not sure if they are bad guys or not. Better safe than sorry, I think prazi kills them.

okay thank you, and something like this would be safe for the arow and ray? i know the rays can be very sensitive to meds. This treatment looks really good and is easy for me to get in the Uk

scrap that, active ingredient is Levemsol, I’ll look for a medication using Praziquantel. Maybe fluke solve should do the trick. Thanks

Should work. I don’t know about Rays and meds though.

Fluke solve orderd, it's 50% praziquantel, not sure what the other 50% is but I assume is some kind of agent to help it dissolve into the water. Hopefully the fish have no adverse reactions. Will do a big clean beforehand to remove as many worms as possible beforehand.

Thanks
