I did find an old TFH mag that talked about diseases. Cryptobia, an internal parasite, that if the fish started to breath heavily then that was about it for it. Triggers are poor water quality, stress and handling. No real treatment is known but Metronidazole and other antibiotics are helpful in controlling outbreaks.

I feed my pike Metro-bits every few months and so far i haven't had any problems. If any of you are looking for metro-bits you can order them from Rockymountaindiscus in bulk. The only reason I order from him is because i used to keep Discus and he has some really good meds. I like his metro which comes in bulk in the powder form.
 
Totally, that would be a very good idea to treat for internal parasites as not many sellers that collect there own pikes do so. Since hardly any of the Lugubris species are captive bred that means almost all of them imported have some chance of having internal parasites.
