Worst fishkeeping disaster

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My worst nightmare happened 9-7-06 when I came home to a note on my door from the neighbor below. The note read "It is raining in my condo unit. Please stop by anytime tonight". I entered my condo to find my 72 bow with three inches of water left in it, and a fountain cascading from the bottom center brace onto the floor. The neighbor had minor damage. I was out of my condo for nearly three months while the floors, baseboards and walls were being repaired.

On 2-4-07, the neighbor above me froze three pipes and they burst into my condo. Fortunately I only lost a couple of fish. The rest went to the store where I work and to my friend's house. This time I was out of my home nearly five months.

...Sometimes too much water is not a good thing.

Ok, so if 2" of tank height equals 2% of 150G, then your tank must be 100" high?

if you consider the amount of water displaced at the lower 5" of my tank due to the large amount of rocks and sand in my tank, 2" should come out to 3-4 gallons

Mine is right now. I lost my 2 female Dempseys, 1 EBJD, 2 more EBJD's on their side, and 4 Polka Dot Loaches. I'M A F***ING MORON. I didn't use a quarentine tank, because I didn't have a heater available to put 1 together, and didn't think anything of it, because I knew exactly where the newest fish came from. I only have 2 Plecos and 1 more EBJD left.

4 yr. old popped open the tabs on a 350mag "to help clean the filter". Resulted in about 40 gallons of water on the floor. It was on the same day we where leaving for vacation.

i got very very drunk........
