Would a gar do well with thse fish?

Thats cool your getting a tropical gar! I was planning on getting one of those later in life but since Gar's are illegal I wont be :(

But in my 180 I'll have one black aro and three p-bass.

The 375 is going to look great though with a trio of pbass and aro's.

In my 180 once its done being used as a growout I might put CA/SA cichlids, crenicichla, or just a jardini arowana by itself.

I'll think about more plans for the 180 after its not a gorwout anymore though!

Please do post pics of your 180. From the looks of your avatar, your gar must be a monster.

Also, on the note of illegal fish, to bad I cant get a Bowfin! They rule!

my florida gar is getting to monster status! he is pushing 17-18 inches. he looks like he is a foot long in the 180. i am currently undecided on what substrate to go with. i would just do gravel but i have a ray in there. so i am thinking sand...but anyway for now it is just bare bottom and i personally think it looks very dull. i have a few pics i took yesterday maybe i will post them today if i get the time.

arent bowfin a native to WA state?

Im not sure, although thats probably why its illegal, must have become a nuisance fish after a few people released them or something.

I'll look it up though. If its native, I could just try and catch one

Just found out, theyre not native. Its a federal offense to , import into the state, hold, possess, propagate, offer for sale, sell, transfer, or release live specimens of bowfin.

I think that really sucks.
