then you are in luck...you can get it cut by any glass distributor. Not for free of course but you mght get away with like 30-40 dollars worth of labor.

Not bad me thinks.

Tempered glass can't be cut by a water jet, or any other method at all for that matter, FYI.

Heat strengthened glass can't be cut either, only annealed.

Thanks for that info! I thought water jet was the only way, but you are correct. You'd think anything that can cut out Billet Aluminum would have been able to do the glass.

Apparently the only way tempered can be cut...with any hope of success is with a laser. Besides my evil genius genes just not feeling like wasting a good laser beam on anything other than the movie's hero...I'm thinking that would cost a LOTS of money.

But my friend assures me the pane is just 3/4" low Fe plate. I guess I'll look into how much it'll cost to get cut down to 36 inches.

If you're wearing polarized sunglasses, you can see a pattern on the glass when viewing it an angle if its tempered.

A water jet can cut it.....into a million pieces lol.

Both tempered and heat strengthened glass would have to be annealed first and then cut, or like you said they can be cut with special lasers (very pricey im sure).

It's not tempered (Aka heat strengthened/treated.) he's already said its not tempered. It's cuttable with a waterjet as it's plate glass. Lol at people who reply without reading every post.

I'd still check. You never now. Rather safe than sorry. Don't think for 1 minute that a saleperson always know what they are talking about. And sonce all you need is a pair of polarized glasses to male sure that you can cut it...
On the other hand your planned tank's too tall for 3/4'' glass anyway

Heat strengthened and tempered arent the same.

I did read all the posts, and I know that he found out its not tempered, he responded to my earlier post and I was just responding again with general info in context to what he had said.
