I would really like to start breeding FH's. I have the set-up's available, I just need to educate myself first. So, where does one go when they need aquaria advice?...you guys! Any info for starters would be much appreciated. I already have the following...
1. One male 6" Red Dragon FH housed in a 75g
2. a 20g up and running with 2 baby surinamensis
I dont know how to vent or do anything with eggs. In fact, I am not even sure my male will tolerate a tankmate and I may have a problem with a divider due to my concrete background. Attached is a picture...

Have you heard of the net technique ? It is better than making partitions.

First condition the male. I had to condition the male by adding 3 albino pleco's to reduce my male Kamfa's aggression . Then i used the net technique and added a female FH. and conditioned them for a week( oh and the pleco's did get bitten by my FH,but they recovered). Now my male and female FH are in peace together with the pleco's . When ever the pleco's try coming near to the clay plates the male chases them away. For the tank setup you have , i suggest that you use the netting techique, but first try introducing pleco's to reduce the male's aggression.

Whats the net technique? I'm struggling with a divider at the mo.

Thank you :)

The green hoop is the mirror. He gets an hour or so of mirror time a day. And I am looking forward to pics of the net technique as well. I am ging o buy a large pleco to drop in and we'll see what happens. If it is too much i will remove hm and try something else.
