Have you heard of the net technique ? It is better than making partitions.
First condition the male. I had to condition the male by adding 3 albino pleco's to reduce my male Kamfa's aggression . Then i used the net technique and added a female FH. and conditioned them for a week( oh and the pleco's did get bitten by my FH,but they recovered). Now my male and female FH are in peace together with the pleco's . When ever the pleco's try coming near to the clay plates the male chases them away. For the tank setup you have , i suggest that you use the netting techique,but first try introducing pleco's to reduce the male's aggression.
about the partition though, you could cut eggcrate louver so that it conforms to the contours of the rocks. Its pretty easy to make into wierd shapes, just sometimes hard to anchor :/
