Would This Be Better??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, don't know if I'll need to make a different thread for this but I'll try. I set up the new filter and it made a weird noise at first but since has settled down. The first two days it was running the water looked really nice and clear, but after that it just got cloudier and cloudier. I tried doing a water change but no help, it was only a small change. So on my regular water change day I changed a bit more but it is still super cloudy. I mean I can barely see the wall behind it!! I thought this filter would help!!!!! What is going on?

Try adding a UV sterilizer (if you don't already have one)

I probably don't.. I don't know what that is lol..
Anyways, here are some pictures of the tank and filter(I got some close ups of the fixed crack in it) and for funzies I got a good picture of my pleco :D

What is in the bag in the Aquaclear?

I had a 400 and a 350 on my 75 gallon breeder too. The water stayed clear always had a slight red tint because of all the driftwood. I have probably four times the wood and fish you have. I have at least 12 fish and about 3 extra large pieces of driftwood.

I used the extension on both and used both mid-level intake strainers too. I had one strainer set at the bottom and the other strainer about 3/4 from the bottom. All of the filter strainers were set to pull water from the bottom, middle and almost near the upper water. I had to cut the extension hoses to get set up I wanted.
