Mine doesn't even clear up after a water change! I'm going to seriously think about getting the UV thing even though I can't find any cheap ones around
The internal mounted one is just the one I recommended because it is a plug and use item. The external ones have to be used in line of a pump (like for a sump or canister filter), they have no pump of their own, unlike the internal one I mentioned. If you have a sump, canister filter or are ok with setting up a dedicated pump loop just for an external one, that will work also. But, not everyone does.
They are used a lot in saltwater but can have a LOT of great results for FW too. After the first one I got, I vowed to never setup a tank without one again!
EDIT: here is an external one, which has the option to get the full kit to set it up off a power head. It is a bit more, but not much.
I have never use that one, or purchased from that seller, so can not say for sure. But, it's an option to check out! http://cgi.ebay.com/9W-Aquarium-UV-...847?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a11b5507
Well today I noticed that it looks clearer. I'm going to do a small water change and then let everyone know the progress via this thread. I'm hoping it will clear up so I don't have to spend a lot on it because I'm saving up for a big tank...
Bump with clear water but I still wanna know how far from the bottom I should have that tube. Oh and 'Water in picture may be crispier than it appears' lol
