I was planning on getting the 24' double lighting
http://www.bigappleherp.com/Hagen-Glo-T5-HO-Linear-Fluorescent-Lighting-Systems
and figured it would be pretty good for a 10 gallon tank. Right now I don't have any plans for doing any corals but would it be better to get a fixture with compact fluorescent bulbs? Right now I just have one lone Marine Glow bulb in the fixture that came with my tank. Should I just keep what I have, or would what I linked to be a big upgrade worth getting?

that's exactly the light i have over my 10 gallon.. you'd be able to keep pretty much any softie, and most LPS's.. though the harder ones will have to remain near the top
i wouldn't try SPS but buying a test frag or two wouldn't break the bank..

buying the Hagen light you have linked would be a BIG improvement

$81? Nice! What type of lighting would you recommend? Should I just stick to the Hagen lights or should I use Coralife?

coralife makes T5s?

One of my buddies told me they did. I'm new to the whole SW thing, so I have no clue when it comes to lighting.

if they do an they are cheaper.. why not..

especially if they have individual reflectors

if you're not doing corals.. a standard florescent light will work fine

personally i like the combination of 10,000K and actinic.. so any combination of them (idk the difference between the two bulbs of the same temp... funny brand stuff i guess)
