Coralife does make T5 lighting, but they probably dont have individual reflectors yet. Current USA makes the nova series which is large improvement for those trying to save money. otherwise my vote go's toward sunlight TEK for those who want some serious lighting.
PC's are great for smaller tanks because they will usually offer enough light for LPS and Softies. SPS require more intense direct lighting so high end T5 systems and halide systems should be used.
My tank consistes of 8 48 inch HO bulbs ran on 2 660s and a 430 ballast. This gives me enough lumens to keep SPS mid tank on a 24" tank. A lot of it is going to have to do with height of the coral, angle of the reflector, color and power of the bulb, and of course type of bulb.
Take it from me, the hagens are not worth the money. they dont utilize efficient reflectors which waste the light, and does nothing for your coral. They are more designed for Planted tanks, vs coral tanks anyways, as the two require completely different levels and color of light.
