Would this tank work well with Large Cichlids?

I wish I had read this earlier you could have got a lot larger tank for half that price at Riverfront. We were there on tuesday and they are selling off a lot of their tanks and they come with sumps. There was a 300g for 400 dollars only needed lights. They also have a nice large maybe 500g acrylic for sale but it will likely be about 2100 dollars.
Any way tou got a nice tank not sure if you will be able to set it up with a sump as it may be tempered glass. As for your fish you will need to be careful if you do want a Midas or FH as both of those fish can be very agressive. Also I just found out how a pair of midas can make a 150 bowfront look pretty small. Best of luck on your stocking and I will try and think of a list for you too.

I don't know the dimensions and weight of the 300 gallon... Probably would be a little too much. The aquarium I bought worked OK because my 60 year old father and I were able to lift it ourselves and with the integrated lights and wooden stand, it doesn't stand out too much in my parents house.

Once I have my own place, the steel-tubed stands, workshop style fluorescent tube lighting and other such extravagances can take place. But for the time being, I just wanted something that can be moved around relatively easily and blend in with my parents decor.

Used aquarium pricing in Alberta is quite odd. You see people listing 90-150 gallon tanks for $1000+ dollars all the time that offer nothing significant when it comes to filtration or stand. Then you also see the occasional 200+ gallon tank selling for $400-500. Quite a large variance in prices.

I think to many people buy their tanks at Petland and then want to sell them for what they paid. You got a great deal as your tank would be 2 grand new plus your filter and lights.

What Bill said. Rookies. lol Those tanks almost never sell for their asking price, and the good deals go lightning fast so many are sold (and deleted) before you even see them. Prices in AB for used are not that bad at all, you just need to shop around. Congrats on your new tank.
