to tell the truth the main reason they are so hard to find now is that they were so cheap in the past people just when crazy with tanks full of them
i used to read arofanatics all the time and when ST were in the hayday people were having tanks with 14-24 ST
it seams the same the world over some people just dont want to pay more than $50 for a fish
which has always been my debate when i see in the aro forum were people state if asian aros were leagle they would buy one at the drop of a hat
but if the truth be know how many people would go out and spend $2k on a asian aro if their not even willing to pay $150 on a ST both fish people seam to want bad
$150 is nothing for a fish you can keep for 10yrs+ thats like a water puppy
i voted $300.
when the smaller ST i had died it killed of the whole fishkeeping thing for me and i even spent my fish fund money on a set of golf clubs.
if i could have bought a nice ST i would have and still have kept a tank running.
and yes you are right richard people dont want to pay the right amount for anything these days.
after dropping my tank price i even had people calling and saying i see you have had it for sale for a while and have dropped the price so would you take this amount (usually half listed price)
i replied no i would not sell you it at full price for being cheeky or words to that effect.
the thing is these days people are being tight but the commercial sellers are being greedy and it will come to a head with the wole thing falling flat on it backside.
somethings got to give somewhere.
so to summarise they is demand for ST and yes some people wil be willing to buy but you can bet that somewhere along the line someone will try and make as much money at humanly possible and stiching up the comsumer in the process.
