Went to my LFS today and talked to the owner about dats.
He told me in the 80's that they used to get 1'' ST and sell them for $5-10!!!!!!

Also said that in the 80's there was supposedly someone breeding datnoids but the farm had to be moved and an airport was then built over were it used to be, and the farms new location didnt have good enough water quality to breed anything so they went out of buisiness.
How much of this is true, I dont know.

I voted 300$. Because i have spent 400$ each for mine.

This poll is dumb. I dont get it. I mean I really choose all options. Id pay $100, $150, $300 or more depending on the ST. But like Ive said, Ive never seen an ST in person over $150.

I agree. What's the point of your thread, to show us how badly you spell?

whats the point in any thread :screwy:

if the only new insult you can come out with is i cant spell try something new you are like a broken record

THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS I CANT SPELL

maybe the board should add a spell cheaker

i think the results speak for them selfs hear most people are willing to pay more than $150

if some one is not even willing to pay $150 for ST what chance do they have of breeding ST

most people who are willing to breed black rays are willing to pay $100000 to get black ray breeding stock

my point hear is you are trying to breed right so surely you must be will to pay for breeding stock

go on tell me i cant spell again and :ROFL:when someone says i cant spell

$150 for a ST is cheap wake up you are living in the 80s if you lived in the UK you may want to watch a program on TV called life on mars :D

At this very minute there is huge demand for ST so if you got them breeding your first batch would not even supply 25% of all the people after ST. So you could easily sell each individual fish for $300+ as you know they will pay more in the far east than they would in Europe and USA. So to even get to batches of fry from these so called breeding ST`s would prove extremely profitable to you and thats the point T1 is trying to make. Yes if you breed and breed for years the demand and price would drop thats just common sense. But for your first few batches you couldnt even flood the market like you keep making out. Also what do you mean you have never seen an ST for more than $150 people on here have told you they have paid more or is it you have not seen any for sale seeing as your looking for them yourself.

There is a very small amount of hobbyists who are into true st's.
They pay a lot for them due to the small amount of them available at the moment.

If they are bred, the first lot will cost quite a bit but the price will drop rapidly as sucessive generations are produced.

As sad as it sounds, joe public will generally rather have a big oscar in their tanks than a Dat. Demand is VERY low. :(
