Yea, how does one keep it from going off when it is in your pocket? Keep the safety on? But wouldn't that be too slow then?

yeah lots of guns dont have safetys these days. i have a springfield XD, and its similar to the glock w/o a conventional safety. it does have a grip and trigger safety thoughJD7.62;2240394;2240394 said:Many popular auto loading pistols such as Glocks do not have a conventional safety. The safety is on the trigger. When you pull the trigger you take off the safety. There is no way the weapon will fire unless the trigger is pulled. In a quality holster the trigger is covered so during the draw it is impossible to pull the trigger.

He said he would rather get fired for having it then need it and not have it. also. I know a guy that has his and he said if a business has a regulation against carying and you get shot at work you can sue the commpany b/c they took away your right to defend yourself.
But if I was really worried aboutgetting beat to death for walking to my car you better beilive I would at least have some mase or a stun gun.
I am in the same boat with company policy. The issue is liability. Our companies cannot let people carry guns or they will be held accountable. Where are your priorities? Mine are my life and my family so that I can raise my kids and provide for them. I can always get another job if or when I get caught, but I only get one life. Plus 95% of my out of home life is at work or commuting in my car... and I am supposed to not carry in those places

In todays troubling times who knows when I wont have to worry about the rare mugger, but rather a violent protest, panic, looting type of situation.
When the remnants of Hurricane Ike rolled through here a couple weeks ago and left thousands of power lines down and hundresd of thousands of people with out power in my county alone, people went nuts. Gas stations were running out of gas and grocery stores as well as resteraunts were running out of food. Now this was all over something pretty minor in my opnion...a bad storm that cause alot of damage and power outages.
What if something REALLY bad happens? I'm really afraid of how my fellow citizens are going to react. It's possible that more then ever, we should be arming our selves.
