The Kentucky state fair is one of the largest state fairs in the country and has a good sized fish show.

Last year I saw a ray (P. reticulatus) entered and I was un-impressed. Im thinking of entering my nice female.

Thoughts?

do you have to transport the rays there or just show pictures??? i dont think i would transport my rays and put them on display for a bunch of people lil too risky

^ agreed ^

Whats the prize if you win?

Yes, the animals have to be there, but they are behind ropes so no one will mess with them.

I dont live too far from the fair grounds so same water source and water changes and feedings would be a non issue. Im on the fence...leaning towards not doing it but just wanted to see what yall had to say.

Prizes are a little cash, gift certificates to LFS, and of course a ribbon and with that self gratification that some one else really appreciates your animal. Of course I'd hope to have an MFK decal on my tank *cough-hint-cough* for free MFK publicity. Also another thing that could be beneficial is raising the public awareness of rays and other monster fish keeping. Easily over ten thousand people will probably see my fish.

still think its way to risky bro.... there is always a what if... and you have some nice motoros and would be a real shame if there was a what if scenario...

it would be really fun, but i think too risky. i would be afraid some retard would throw food or pop in the water and kill off everything lol..

if you dont feed the ray for 3 days before you put it in the show

have a mature internal filter you can plug in and make sure the stand has elec

you should be ok

I would not say its very risky(same water source), but yes there are those "what ifs."

Leaning towards no. I will just smile at the winner thinking to myself..."you just think you have the best fish!" ;)

I probably would do it if I had a more easily replacable ray, like a regular motorro, but not the marbles you got!
