JDM doesn't have to mean all the fish are tightly packed, true, most JDM tanks overstock, but it also has to do with the style and aesthetic of the fish.
for example, these JDM tanks are not overstocked:

only the bottom of my tank is crowded. the rest is free swimming space. it's all personal opinion. i love JDM style tanks.

One thing I do know.... Nobody has ever shown me a tank they claimed to be "JDM" That wasn't overcrowded until Lbathory posted those pics.

haha np. from what I've heard from talking to asian LFS owners, JDM has alot to do with the aesthetics and feng shui of the tank. The over crowding I guess is a way to achieve that for some fish keepers.

JDM, another fad, just like the peacock bass, the armatus, the rays, the aimara, all fads, now all are sold, or being sold.

Jump on board JDM guys, it will only last a month or two.

What's next? Trying to keep fish with little or no water, might be able to pile in more fish without water. NWT.............No Water Tank......your fish will evolve, take it to the NEXT LEVEL.
