 why did they close it, it seemed pretty civil it there? unless they deleted the bad stuff.

i'd pay $100 if they quit closing threads. nothing pisses me off more here, wish they would just delete the bad posts.
I'm sure that's easier said than done, and if threads weren't closed, they would just continue to be derailed and cleaned up in an endless cycle, which would defeat the purpose...

If ads are bothering you guys so much look for an adblocking software like ABP(Ad Block Plus) It's a Mozilla Firefox Internet Browser Plugin that blocks alot of ads. You can block the ads you want on your own or download user saved lists of blocked ads. I've had it for a while so I haven't even noticed the new ads. Just apply it to your browser and no more ads. I try to only block the obnoxious ones though since a lot of sites are run off of ad revenue.

i'm sure there is a better solution than flat out closing a thread. like temporary bans or issuing infractions. i would hope closing threads is an absolute last resort. i don't see what's wrong with a little debating as long as it's clean, civil and on topic.

i think some mods get a little trigger happy, what's the harm in letting a thread run long and maybe letting some issues get resolved? do they think we're too stupid to know when to quit reading?

ya its because we are to stupid to know when to quit reading...:screwy:
and they know when things aren't gonna get resolved...they've been doin it long enough i trust them to close a thread when they need to

I have never seen a thread get closed that meets those requirements (other than marketplace threads, but that's not the same).

See this alot online. The problem is folks seem to think the are "talking" in a public place. It isn't.Its neos "house".He pays the bills. Its his house.
Just like if someone got loud,or started something you don't like in your house you'd ask them to stop, tell them to shut up,or ask them to leave.Deleting or closing threads, infracting or banning is the only way to do that online.
So if everyone would act like you are having a fish conversation,in the home of our gracious host, you should be able to stay out of trouble. You don't have to respect the opinion of the person you are talking to,but you do need to respect our host.
