  • Never!!!! I'll deal with all the ads you want, but a forum should be free for its users

I don't see why this would make someone leave. It's a premium membership which would mean that you don't have to do it if you don't want. I love not having ads on a phone forum that I go to frequently.

As mentioned in the CB&S thread, I agree and would pay a fee, I still think the cost should be posts related.

If you've got 0-100 posts then free, for new members to join, look around and see if they like, if your at 100 post then there is a fair chance your in the right place.

If you've got 100-2000 posts (I don't know why I keep picking that number ) X fee, nominal maybe $10-20 a year.

If you've got 2000-10000 a smaller fee $5-10 a year

If your 10k plus then premium should be free.

The reason I use these numbers is because not that post count matters, to me it comes down to the quality of the post but as an anti spam measure. No one is going spam to 2k for a saving, and at 10k plus you've got to have really contributed at least something not spammed your way to save a couple of $

No disrespect but I don't think this is a good idea. The last thing MFK needs is more 13 year old kids just blasting away at their post count so they don't have to borrow as much from ma and pa for thier membership fee coming up. That just seems like a lot of bad / un-researched junk posts being thrown around and would take some of the "value add" away from the MFK'ers with actual experience and advice. I would prefer not to waste my posts, if I'm paying for them to correct the bad info/advice. In turn, how many people might not post accurate advice when one needs help because they are "saving up" thier posts. I say we ditch the post count if we incorporate fee's. A lot of other sites just have a join date and it's kind of nice.

Does that make sense?

im to poor to spend even 5 $ a month on a forum .no offense i love this site, and...when i have money i would but..meh they are just adds i can ignore them..and spend my money on fish food.

A forum should be free for its users in my opinion, makes it more "user-friendly".
But it is of course Li's choice.
I wouldn't leave because of that... That's for sure.
I don't exactly have the means to pay that 10-15 dollars.

i dont think i would pay but id like some more clothes though. id like to buy some but not a big fan of current styles. need a gar

I would love for that damn ad in the middle of the screen to be gone

People seriously need to read the OP. People think they have to pay. :nilly: I also already have 2 MFK shirt, 1 MFK keychain. :)

I'd have no problem paying a small subscription fee.

Ofcourse if everyone would just by a shirt this problem would be solved.
