Would You?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I say HELL NO because Dovi's are alot meaner and get alot bigger alot faster so the texas would be fish food... The only time I would entertain the thought of puting those fish together is if it was only for a short time and they were all the same size with alot of hidding places....

yes... surival of the fittest

waste of money if you ask me but if you got the cash to (just see what would happen) then go for it but your setting your self up for a loss!!! Maybe not right away but sooner or later the texas will be fish food!!! But just my opinion!!!

But only to see the carnage, but then again, with four Doviis in a tank, you're already close to that...

ditto...at some point that texas is history. if you want to see survival of the fittest then just leave the 4 dovii together and at most you'll eventually be left with just 2 though you may wind up with just 1. just depends on wether or not the dominant male finds a female he likes.

first off dont we need to know tank size. and by the way i have owned some MEAN ass texas cichlids in the past. had a big ass show specimen that was about 12" when i picked him up, and he went in the 300 with my 12" dovii and didnt back down a bit and he was the NEW GUY!!! if the tank is big enough and the texas has some size on it then i would say try it out. if the dovii are bigger, you may have to go post in the most expensive feeders thread. hahahahah

Way to promote irresponsable fishkeeping. :clap

I vote "no". In a large enough tank it might work but that would need to be one huge tank. IMO getting one and putting it with four dovi is a waste of money and the waste of a fish.
