I have had all three types of GG red tail beautiful and does not grow as fast a the albino ones, but they tend to be more aggressive then the others I have a male 24 inches and a female about 12 inches they also eat more of a fish and krill and carnivore floating sticks. The white one are more vegetarian than the red tail ones and the all grey ones are the same as far as diet.I have had huge white ones before and even kept it with small African cichlids.I would say that the albino ones grow twice as fast as the red tail ones.I bought a small albino from Pet Land for $14.99 its about 4 inches long,I am going to put in the 400 gallon tank when it grows out to about 12 inches hopefully it will get along with the other two red tail ones.

How aggressive did you find the RT GGs to be? WOuld one be ok in a 4'x8'x3' tanks with some big (12"+) cichlids, couple pbass, a fire eel, a giraffe cat, and a arowana/florida gar?

I would say yes,but all fish have there own personality some would get along and others may try to dominate the tank as they grow larger I have mine in with 20 inch flag tail 12 inch flag tail,24 inch aro, large Motoro sting ray,8inch blackbelt,12 inch synosperlium,5 seven inch hapla barbs,3 nine inch wide bar silver dollar,1 narrow bar silver doller

My GG was 20" in this pic and the RTC was 30". The long pipe in the back is 4" pvc 24" long. They were in my 500 8x3x3'. I had the GG for 7 years and the RTC for 2 Years.

Giant goramy's have always amazed me. There heads grow so grotesque but with a kind of personality to them that make them interesting to look at. Sometimes they seem like grumpy old men. I had raised 2 Red tails to 18" but regretfully traded them both away. I now have been raising 2 Gold giant goramy's that are 10 and 12" and 4 normal color that are 6-7". I hope to keep these guys for ever if I can.
