if you cant afford a vet visit how the hell are you gonna house it in the long run?
i realise thats a long way down the road, but you should still afford to take care of your animal the best way possible. its worth it to take it to the doctor.

my dad won't take me. when our dog was practically puking his guts out he said we weren't taking him to the vet unless he is about to die.

and we have a good setup. its a 30 gal we had in the garage with some gravel in the bottom, a water heater, a big filter, and a small land area.

I usually don't trust vets with reptiles anyways. I know of plenty of incidents where the vet did not know how to treat a reptile and ended up killing it. Reptile vets are few and far between and can charge an outrageous amount. I prefer to treat it myself when it is something minor like this.

good point. i guess i never thought about not having a good rep vet nearby.....

Randomly treating the turtle might not be the best idea.

That wound does not look like it just popped up over night. Two other turtles have already died correct? Maybe you should give him to some one who is going to properly take care of him.

A 30 gal tank I dont think is quite big enough, for now yes, for later no.

i agree look my idea up google it up see what u find , but i know the turtles my lil sis brought home had eye infections and had a viatimin deficancy and cod oil worked also cod oil has a certin viatiman in it i forget what one though this happend about 2 yrs ago. i would have never thought of it would have worked unless a trust worthy source gave me the info....
