Howdy,

As my wolf fish grows bigger, I have more and more respect when I do tank maintenance. Most of all, I keep him well-fed. But somewhere down the road I am sure he will bring up the guts to defend his territory against invasion by my hands.

Here's my question: Who has gotten bit, stung, cut, etc. by aquarium fish? Please name species and size - and what you did to prevent it from happening again!

Bring it on

My 9" midas who dougefresh now owns has bit me numerous times. Note to self: Don't hold peices of krill over water and expect fish just to bite at the surface.

He got close to my wrist once. Drew blood too.

Yea no kidding, he got me for the first time yesterday, was rearranging the tank and he knocked the 12" net outta my hand that i was holding him back with and got my finger, broke skin but didn't draw blood.......but i've also been bitten by my oscars, EBJD, and aro.......

My 13 inch albino Oscar got a hold of my thumb somehow while I was feeding him one day. It startled me and I jerked my had back and almost yanked him out of the tank. Drew a little blood. My texas has also taken swipes at me, but since I've put him in the 125g he is not as aggressive (thank god). I would have to say though that my blood parrots are the ones that most often outright try to bite me... little bastards...

My dovii has drawn blood twice while I was doing water changes. Nothing serious, but surprised me both times. Now I use a divider..
The scariest was when my 12" Fahaka tagged me though. Luckily he got mostly fingernail and just a little chunk of finger so it healed up with only a little scar.

I had a 16" gar that got my finger once my hubby had to finish cleaning the tank. After that I put in a divider while cleaning the tank. NowI am just waiting for the day that one of my stingrays gets me.

My 10" rose queen bites me constantly while doing tank maintenance. It only took a couple bites with blood for me to get a pair of Aquagloves. He bites like an attack dog, grabs and shakes lol....

Burt:)

:WHOA: My Red devil drew blood and left actual little teeth marks in my husbands finger.. we now just put up a temporary screen .. first clean one side of the tank, take the screen down and move him over, put the screen back up and do the other.. other wise...................:WHOA: .
