Wounded by monster fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have been hit in the face by my 22'' aro I use to have. He got over anxious at feeding time and came right out the water and hit my nose.

I have also have been stabbed by a pictus cat. He got stuck in a net during a tank move and while I was trying to get him out he started thrashing and stuck me in the thumb.

I have also been bitten by various cichlids. Being stabbed by the pictus cat is the worst encounter I have had so far, but I'm sure there will be more.

My Red Tailed Chalceus will bite me every time i get in the tank. He's small but has pickery little teeth leaving what looks like little bloody olimpic rings on my hand..I have a longer siphon on my Python now since he's growing..

Does this have to be in your home?

Because I was bitten in the face by a queen triggerfish off the NC coast. Drew blood and came back for more. Also, various damselfish (but they're not monsters)

my 10" gar confused my finger for a feeder when I was adjusting a heater that got whacked out of place, left a lot of bleeding pinholes and he wouldn't let go...sad to say we found him outside the tank the next morning, my kids said he was coming after me for more blood to eat........

The only one who has bit me was my 14 inch Buttikoferi. he just suked my whole finger into his mouth. got some scratches from her

I've been bitten by various cichlids (mostly oscars) but never enough to draw blood. I did have a similar experience as Honda, though mine was a pleco...and that did kinda hurt.

my jelly bean parrots pair always bite me when i am cleaning the tank but dont hurt much. theworst is the male convict. i chase him around sometimes before i do cleaning just as to soften him up a bit.

My uncle got bitten by his full grown oscar a few years ago. He said it tore a big slice of flesh off his knockles:hitting: .
Also last year I was playing around with this soft shell turtle near a river. It got mad and tried to snap me with his mouth. I was really surprised at how fast the turtle moved and how far its neck can stretch:eek: . I'll never mess with a softshelll again:grinno:
