writing (DSLR) in photo lounge threads...?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
DSLR trumps everything.

If someone writes DSLR in a "Guess what's in the box" thread title I have to look. It's just the rules of the game.:D:D

Nothing like the "Can't concentrate" thread or how about the "I hate Black Friday" thread. To name a few.

Those were very readable and full of information.

Your rough. I respect that.

the real question is: DOES IT REALLY MATTER? who cares what people put in the title, it's their thread.

but on the same note, i HATE the "guess whats in the box" threads. pretty pointless. but i just dont even bother going in those threads. if i wanna see a cardboard box i can do that anywhere, i dont need to go on mfk for that ;)

guess who started that trend ... also...

So your saying a dude with Point & Shoot. Shooting White Oscars has a chance aginst you in any potm/??? Were talking what 5-6 g's in gear? To a $100-$500 (could be wrong) I defer to you guys on prices..

I'm not saying i think non dslr cameras are worthless. I've seen some cool pictures my self. But the upside of the DSLR is nuts. And im sure you agree.

Do you think putting "DSLR" in your title takes away from other threads? If so why? (Just wondering?) I mean no harm Gerry just wondering? I have nothing aginst any bodys thoughts.

I sometimes put "DSLR" in my title.. But not for extra attention. Mainly when i get a decent shoot for me. (Trash to you.) lol But i'm honestly just looking for more help/advice? You know better than anybody i really want to take nice photos with my camera.

Agin not trying to piss any body off. :) Just trying to understand where your coming from. Ed please respond also. If you can, Seems you share similar views?

The general take on pictures taken with an as defined higher quality camera, are much much better than any shot taken with any P&S, and this is simply wrong, i posted something awhile back with bird shots off a camera phone and the pictures were excellent imo. that being said people justify there picture quality on the camera they use, not on the effort they put out to make the shot, that that infuriates myself. Do people who know how to shoot a DSLR camera make great shots, yeah alot of time that is so, just because a persons camera is not a DSLR does it make for an excuse to not shoot a camera to it's potential and accept something that they believe is "crappy".-IMO --No way.

'photo of the month' competition should be judged on how the fish look and its overall surroundings. you guys who judge it on what camera its taken with are just silly. should re-name the event 'what fishkeeper has the best DSLR' gear 2010.

i disagree completely. its called PHOTO of the month, not FISH of the month. i vote based on the quality of the picture. that way ill vote for anything in between a guppy and an arapaima. those that vote based on the fish are BIASED, as many will only vote for fish they like or only fish that are considered "monsters"

^^^^
Many people will vote for Pbass which sucks for everyone else. I don't like Pbass at all but if it's the best photo then it gets my vote...unfortunately. :(
