nothing beat water changes (70% twice a week) to keep your water at peak ;)
lesee here...
300 gallons=standard accepted minimum Arowana tank
210 gallons=70% WC
420 gallons= weekly amount of H2o needing supplied/conditioned prior to waterchange
1600+ gallons= monthly amount of changed and conditioned water.
6400+ gallons=minimum annual amount of conditioned/changed water.

How many could spend that kinda "python time" to do what needs to be done for acceptable parameters ?

What do you do, if you cannot be there to do those essential H2o changes twice a week?

From where I stand, the probaility of "twice weekly" 70% waterchanges happening are not looking good...

Why hell, that's about as humane as keeping AROWANA in a 55...

Hmmm...Now THAT is some funny siht...

Children, children, children...can't we all just get along?

Ok, sooo....

I found an interesting link. It is what they are doing out in Japan (or where ever). Removing nitrAtes with a simple wet/dry. And data is included :)

Yeah man, that thread was one of my reasearch spots...I'll look in my old posts...slow trickle an 18" of depth in the tower...were 2 things I adopted from the Dr. that worked...

So, what it looks like they are saying so far that I have read is that if your bio balls are are not stacked at least 12 inches high, then it is a waste of effort? How wide of an area are we talking also. These guys are using anywhere between 1000 and 7000 bio balls. I womder how far you can scale down to acheive this in a 250 gallon tank.
