One of the more interesting reads I've seen lately. I have been trying to find something to research for my senior year next year and this may be it. How I would go about it may be tough, but hopefully it can be worked out. Also, I am impressed with the number of posts in the pbass thread that say things along the lines that of the black looked cool after someone posted that it was a result of an illness. Shows how much people read through threads.
I read something a loooong time back, don't remember where, but I've heard it has a lot to do with water quality. It effects Midas, Parrot fish etc... it's some kind of a disease if I recall correctly..
is there tank 4000 or 400? haha either way MONSTER TANK!!!! thats weird i think its water quality thats what it is when blood parrets start turning black
looks like a terrible bruise, I have seen this happen to fish that were netted improperly, meaning that they were "squeezed" between the net and the glass or something else in the tank. Or in fish that have wedged themselves into spaces that were too small. Poor guy
some flowerhorn faces or one side of the body turn black when the ph is to low , exactly the same way , very dark like that . so this doesn't happen i keep crushed coral in my canisters to keep the ph value high enough . (this does not happen to all flowerhorn) .it must have a similar cause or stress ..
