Shell off, rinsed, and cut into chucks with scissors. I guess I should cut her open to see what is going on inside. I drove 14 hours round trip to TFD and hand picked her out which sucks most of all.

cut her up and take some pictures to share....

Check this out, I found what looks like a large blood blister on her liver. Cyst maybe? First pic is when I pulled her open showing this growth, the second pic is her liver removed, and the third is the other side of the liver showing the size of this thing. Her stomach and bowel were empty.

Looks like its not what you did but what was already there.
A cyst or something. sorry for your loss.

Dude is this CSI Stingray????? Wow, I just wouldn't have the stomach to do that!! Well at least you know it wasn't your fault. Sorry for your loss, don't let it get you down you'll find another one.

Did anyone talk about this at the Synposium? What does fatty liver disease look like? Just curious.. wonder what it was?!?!?!

Hey maybe Erica will look at this thread and show the pics to her vet and give us some idea of what fattly liver disease looks like or if its visible from the eye, or if a test needs to be done.
You've had her for how long? 8 months or less?? not sure if she could get fatty liver disease in that short of time unless she was a long term captive before you got her.....

i think you need to also consider that the ray was dead for a unknown amount of time... this could cause things to change inside the animal...

Looks like she got raped.
I want to go cut up dead rays now.:D
