WTF! How does this happen?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm so sorry for your loss! Hopefully somebody more knowledgable on the subject can give some input about what caused this. As others have mentioned, fatty liver disease comes to mind.

Describe the liver for me. Got more pics of it? Know an age of her?
Dark (green) area looks to be gall bladder, not a cyst.

Are you talking about the spot I am pointing at? If so that spot looked just like a blood blister. It was dark red and could be seen through the liver to the other side, that is why I took a pick of both sides. I don't have anymore liver pics, it is frozen now with my poor ray :( She couldn't of been more than a year old, maybe a year and a half. I couldn't imagine her having fatty liver disease unless something was wrong with her liver to where she couldn't process foods correctly.

Sorry for your loss. You've got some guts to cut her open. But at least you know what it was.

I really didn't want to do it. I don't really truly know that the spot I found killed her, but atleast it gives me some relief that maybe it wasn't something I did.

I'm still leaning toward a liver or renal issue.
How was the GI tract? Clear of obstructions? Was here food in her stomach or spiral valve?

I dont think its fatty liver disease, if she is a big eater, at 8 inch she is likely to be less than 1 year old. But the clot is interesting, never seen such clots before. I have dissected some of my dead rays, but none has such clots.

How long were your rays dead before you dissected them? Mine was atleast dead for 20 hours or less.

Where do I send mine? I'm not doing it..... BUT would REALLY like to know the C.O.D. of my last 2 rays.....
