Dont understand why people got to mess with mother nature......

Erm... we keep fish in our tanks. Breed them, choose to allow them to mate or otherwise, even with their own species. Cull ones that we do not like. Place different species of fish that are not normally found together. Feed them stuff they don't normally find... not sure how that's not messing with mother nature.

With a couple of exceptions CA and SA cichlids can not hybridize. In this case pertaining to Convects and Angelfish they Can not hybridize. Read the link provided it should help explain why and how some fish can while others can't.

Lol Aquanero, they didn't hybridize the angels and convicts together lol. Read the article again. >< They did this to convicts and angels separately.

[EDIT]

That being said, I'm not saying definitely if what they're doing is right or wrong or whatever. Though I lean more towards 'I don't care if they want fluorescent angelfish and convicts let them be'.

You are right, I didn't get that the frist thru. I guess they just have nothing better to do and a vast amount of time and money do it with!

^ I agree 7 years I wonder how much money that couldve been spent on other things was spent on having the glowing cichlid "breakthrough" and how much time and money before it is announced to the world that theyve created glowing people? Imagine how much money would be saved on home lighting with that one???? flashlight businesses would go under youd never need a candle who needs a camera flash when Im glowing? And would people still say a pregnant woman has that GLOW? hmmmmmm or would they ask," your glow is off are you pregnant?"

Lol. But yah I agree they must have been EXTREMELY bored. Because seriously, there's no market returns anymore if they've spent so much time and effort and money on such a project. Would have been discontinued long ago if it was mainly for monetary purposes.

Then again, this is Taiwan and things... may be different there I guess?
