Wtf Jags are illegal?

ok so i was on the thread about what fish are illegal in what states, and jaguar cichlids are illegal in utah!! man i want to move to wyoming now, piranhas, and now jaguars. i might just send the utah feds a letter
and to think i was about to order a jag, cause they my fav cichlid

I think you saw this: (16) Jaguar guapote, Cichlidae Family (Cichlasoma managuense).

This is on the restricted species list, but this is not a Jag cichlid. They are not illegal.

^thats it, it is in the thread oddball posted in the marketplace forum. i will try and get a link. i am just so bummed out. i was gonna throw one in my tank. anyone know of a good look alike, and where i can get one if they exist?

So is your avatar. Just Kidding! I didn't know that Jags were banned in Utah. Now, if you had said Florida I would not be so surprised. It seems like everything ends up on our illegal species list. And I don't understand what THETETRAKING wrote at all. What does that mean?

A Jag is a Parachromis, this is not a Parachromis

it is a jag, some places still classify them under Cichlasoma. My lfs' wholesaler list has dovii and jaguars listed under Cichlasoma instead of Parachromis.
