WWMFKD(What would MFK Do?)

I really want a black/lei I'd really like to be able to house them for life, wish is obviously not going to happen. And I'm just afraid that I wont be able to get a larger tank when the time comes. But I guess if it needed to be done, I could sell the aro, as I know someone would love to give it a great home.(hint hint) And Frank(did you go to the WA meet, if so, you probably met) told me about a store in Olympia that has widebar dats at 3'' for super cheap.

And, as far as I know gar are illegal in Washington? Or has the law changed. I've wanted a florida/spotted for quite some time, but all I've been able to find are false rocket gar's.
 
Will do... I really wanted to go there on the MFK meet, but I didnt get to attend the meet. I thnk its time for anothet meet, maybe a little after december, february maybe? If we had it then, I'd have my 180G and I could give you those Rotkiels, Maybe a Vieja Argentea if you want(I'm getting a few of those aswell)

I really want a Lei though, less exspensive the blacks(from what I've seen) and have the asian aro type body shape, and arent as agro as jars.
 
im not really shure but i think lei's get larger than jars do, and im not shure on their growth rate. i dont need a vieja, got too many fish as it is, but thanks anyways!

Yeah, i know Leis get larger then Jars but theyre not as agressive, and I kinda like them more. Sweeeet Gar. How big is that one? Looks at least 24'' from the pic?
You still want the Rotkiels though, right? Just was wondering about the Vieja cus I'm getting 5 and only want 1. Giving three to a local member, so I'll have one left over.

Man, that is a sweet Gar. how much was it, and how big was it when you bought it at Kings if you dont mind me asking...

If I got a gar, I wonder what I'd put in with it, probably polys, and maybe a Lei. Do a full on prehistoric monster tank!
 
hes about 14-16" and i hand feed him, which is scary, you should see his teeth:WHOA:. was about 10" when i got him for $55. i got the ornate for ya if you got room. when you getting the rotkiels, and how big?
 
my next large tank with me a single predator: Electric eel, rhom, ATF...

Thats awesome about the handfeeding! Must be scary, yet fun at the same time, LOL. 10'' and $55 dollars is awesome. Getting the Rotkiels in December, should be 2-3'' I'll take the ornate in december if you want to wait until then. ;)
