no i didnt but ive caught a lot of bullhead like that here so maybe i could get a few and try breeding them. is it rare to catch fish like that because its not to unusual here to catch a fish like that. i live in northern illinois and most of the ponds and streams get flooded and cut off when it rains or theres a drought

Very cool! If you catch another keep it and we can use it for brood stock. Might have to do a couple of generations to concentrate the xanthic genes.

Holy crap that would be awesome! I know you can commonly buy albino channel cats and albino trout but ive never seen albino lmb or sunnies for sale. Never even seen any in person. Maybe a little xanthic only breeding could get a good breeding stock to start mass producing these guys

Actually, if you can get xanthic or albino bullheads, I'd be very interested in those. Yellow channel cats are commonly produced, so you'd need to be sure that that is not what you are finding. Channel cats have a forked (V shaped) tail fin. Bullheads have a fairly straight or rounded-off tail fin. If you can get some xanthic or albino bullheads, I'll gladly send you shipping supplies and instructions.

i just realized that goldfish are just xanthic carp. lol

I dont think so. Im pretty sure they are their own species. Goldfish dont get nearly as big as common or grass carp.
