It seems plenty of this spawn did make it to free-swimming in the end - the female is happily guarding them all and is thoroughly pissed off with the occupants of the tank that is next to hers...

The fry are doing very well. They are still with mum, but I am going to remove her very soon - she is extraordinarily aggressive at the moment - whenever I open the tank lid to feed the fry she jumps out of the water to bite me - ungrateful or what??...
I will post some pictures soon - I took a few 4 days ago and they have even grown since then!

The fry have now grown a lot. They are between 1 and 4 inches. I am considering selling some of them. PM me for more info (can post throughout UK) (1/4 of these fish should turn out to be xanthic probably around the 5-6 inch mark)
