Try feeding him NLS pellets thera ++++ 3mm. I brought my wild caught L-114 leapord cactus back to life with that stuff. All the garlic in there is an appetite supressant. I know what your going through my L-114 cost me $405 with shipping and he wouldn't eat for awile also. A year later he is 11 inches and will eat 25 of those pellets every other day. I alternate his food with flakes,

$405 for a L-114??? OUCH!!! I paid $15 plus like $20 shipping for mine through online. Hope its a stunner.

Xanto's from my understanding turn more yellow with the more they settle in. I know on PlecoFanatics some users had them and they had there turn more and more yellow with just constant care over them and they got them from almost solid black to solid yellow.

Yeah but it was a solid 8 inches and thick. Also this was a few moths before a lot of plecos started to come through the hobby again.

Bet it's a beast, allan!

Update on my Xanto:

I use Fluval peat granules in the tank now, and the tea-colored water is definitely so much win. pH was also brought down a LOT. from about 7.8-6.8-7.0...However, my baby was getting more and more grey as time's gone on. After realizing the big common he was with was stiffing him for food and shelter, i chucked it off a freeway overpass into a stream. (the same one he came from, for all you haters)...didnt feel like making money off of him at all. Also, tried giving him a chance in my big L330 tank but that just ended up being the brawl of the century. Panaque-1, Common-0

Long story short, Xanto's alone in a 90g with an AC110 and a Fluval 405. My prized beauty..

I pray it starts it path to gold...Will keep everyone updated (since they're apparently pretty rare i guess)

Thanks for following along, all!

lol i had to do the same when my common plec was giving my royal issues but instead of chucking him off the freeway over pass i chucked him into my friends indoor pond... and seachem garlic guard will work wonders for picky fish. its how i got my indo and silver dats off live and onto pellets

thanks!
my buddy that works at LFS gave me some of their stock that they use for their fish to try for my late arowana...since i use algae wafers, do i soak them for a little while only? (dont want to make it so that the wafers disintegrate when i throw them in the tank..

cant wait to check on my fish when i get home. it might have been just me but it started to look less stressed just last night. may have been the lighting though. bleagh.

and i like your avatar! lol

congrats on the new pickup! I own two of these. Ive been told that their color will change depending on their mood. they dont move around a whole lot. asince they come from brazil its best to keep them in 80 degrees since the waters of the brazilian amazon are warm. I got mine about a month &1/2 ago. right now they are not in season.
