Hey everyone,
My friend got this xback sized 6" around 2 months ago at first it was kept in a plain tank which was just 40 gallons and it showed nice shine till 4th level 3 weeks back he moved to a 85 gallon tank with a black background an within a week it showed a slight blueish shade and now the blue is getting intensified.....I found this pretty amazing...HOw is this happening?
This was over a month back

Hmmmm........ What farm did this fish come from? does it have a cert. It doesn't look like an Xback to me at all. As for the colour change, we normally keep our xbacks when young in white FTGs to increase the shine lvl. it makes for pale aros and nice bright shine, but move them into a black tank at around 15" to intensify the tone. What is happening is the aro is adapting to the environment. It's also getting older, so the colour is developing. It still looks really small through, what has ur friend been feeding him. Small aros need to be fed twice a day until 70% full until they hit above 10". Best food would be cut raw shimp, pellets, or mealworms.

There are blue based xbacks. Beautifull fish.

This aro looks RTG to me.

It has traits of a RTG, that would be my best bet, a very small chance of some green blood in there, I'm not experience enough to say for certain. But aros with no cert in my country we call "tikum leng". Loosely translated, "jackpot aro". Reason, it's anyone's guess. It could be mix with other bloodlines like with banjar reds or green aros or it could be pure. But without the cert and micro chip, sadly they have no value no matter how nice they turn out.
