Xbox One Launch

LAN parties. People brought each other's xboxs and sometimes even tvs just to play games of slayer. What other games used a PvP format successfully(that lasted generations) to point were Microsoft built a community of it. Im not saying they invented it im saying is they successfully innovated it. And without it, online gaming would have looked very different.

I remember a couple Halo CE lan parties... good times lol some friends and I still do it with Halo 4

I miss lan parties :( haha last lan party I went to was in 8th grade for Halo 3! Do I have you added on live man? We should play some Halo 4 sometime im xAxios

Computers and counter strike. Sorry sir but you loose. Xbox is a contributor didn't do a whole lot to revolutionize gaming. Without Xbox maybe we would have free online gaming.

Xbone did nothing to appeal to me except for rise. Both systems were equally faulty at launch but it's expected. But ps4 is killing it in the sales department (even though that doesn't really add up to better just more people want or like it)

Im talking about console gaming. There's no doubt PC will always be superior. That's why I like the way Microsoft is taking by not trying to compete with a never ending expanding market. They are making an entrainment system which a PC can not deliver. Im still putting my money down on Microsoft to come out of this the winners. Just like ps3 vs 360, "superior graphics blah blah blah". Sony come talk to me when you've made successful console exclusives that have made live action tv shows (soon to a be movie), novels, and comics based on your console exclusive games.

Hello McFly? How about, I don't know, resident evil? Not that any of that even matters, games should stay as games. No crossy!


I don't see why one has to "win" over the other anyway. Back to psone gen you absolutely had an N64 and a playstation if you were in to games. They both were unique and had their own really great games. FF7 and Zelda Ocarina of Time? Doesn't get better than that.

As far as Xbox? I don't have a problem with it, I just have no reason to get one. Maybe I'm old school but I hate gimmicks, Nintendo lost me with Wii. All I want my game system to do is to play games with a controller. Maybe play some Netflix. Other than that, I have a computer hooked up to my TV where I can torrent anything out there. And I don't like Halo much.

Wii is awesome, I don't care what no one says. Its a good compliment to the other consoles, especially if you have a family

Why must there be a winner? Hard battle lines were drawn when we switched predominately to online gaming on consoles. Everyone wanted their friends to get the same system they had to play together. Think about being 14 years old again instead of about your adult resources. I honestly wish there was one online system so we could all play together instead of picking
 
^ very well said, since back in the day it was almost a plus to have a different type of console so when you visited friends you could play different games...

Now its all about having the same console so you can play the same game with friends online at home alone...
