Bunch of noobs on here. H3 BR all day long, four shotting. That game took sooooo much more skill that reach and 4 combined, and halo 2 more than that.

Honestly this is how it I see it playing out for myself.

I'm probably gonna pick up a Wii U later this year, and enjoy all those games (I love mario games) and enjoy my new console for a while. After about a year or so, I'll have a better feel of which console is better (plus hopefully some kinks will be noticed and worked on) and buy which one i like best.

Let me just say, even as a big 360 fan, I'm leaning towards the ps4.

Nintendo is making me sad. Lost me at the Wii. I loved NES, SNES, N64. I just want a solid gaming system with no gimmicky motion controllers or second screens to play Zelda and Mario.

I've never cared for the controllers, I just use GameCube ones.

Also I don't think you need the second screen, rather its just an option (I tested it out at some big booth this week).

I could never leave Nintendo, too young for NES, but have so many n64, gameboy, and GameCube memories that I couldn't just drop it all. There's no games that are more fun IMO than Mario games (even if they only last like 24 hours and have no competitive online play) and especially the felling of satisfaction and sadness at the completion of each game.

I think they knew they couldn't compete with Sony and Microsoft when it came to graphics and games for the hard core gamers. So with the Wii, they decided to target a different market -- kids, old folks, girls, and people who don't normally play games. I think their plan worked out brilliantly. I mean just from a business sense, they did everything right with the Wii and now they own the market for girl/kid/old people casual gamers while Sony and MS fight over the hardcore gamer and young male group .

Nintendo could compete if they wanted too. It is not like Nintendo is a small company. It is one of the world financial strongest corporations. Bigger than BMW. Nintendo has gargantuan money reserves and a much more powerful financial power than Sony for example. It is just that Nintendo is less likely to take a risk. They are very conservative. Their former CEO Hiroshi Yamauchi is one of the richets man in Japan.

Nintendos Super Weapon in Japan is Zeruda no Densetsu (Zelda). That gaming series is so popular here that it can counter virtually anything. When PS2 came out the GAmecube was few months behind her in schedule. Nintendo countered the launch of PS2 with the release of Zelda Majoras Mask, which was able to top sales of any PS2 games.
