So are you now selling the XP3? You should recommend to your friend that he should consult the owners manual. These filters don't just leak all over the place and his is a likely a result of operater error or maybe just plain stupidity.

This is true, but like others have stated, drill a small hole just below the water line so it won't empty your tank. Now, you will still have a very wet mess on your hands. Performing the proper maintenance on filters will keep this from happening.True, but the wetdry would only pump an inch or so of the water into the tank before it stopped. The canister could possibly drain all the way until it hit the intage, which is usually 4" from the bottom of the tank.
