After 2 monhs of waiting, I finally got my first and second rays. I got a pair of WC Reticulated rays. They are about 3-4 in disk size and 3-4 in tails. I got a male and a female, so hopefully they can pair up. They have different colors and patterns, so hopefully no inbreeding. :naughty:

I know that it will take time for them to start eating, they both look really heathy and not skinny. But I was just wondering those with retic experience, how long does it usually take before they start eating.

I will have pics up soon, I took afew but have not had a chance to upload. The female ray came in with a little bent tail. This morning I noticed eith it fell off or it was nibbled on by its tankmates. The tail is not shorter and it seems like it is shedding. Is that a good or bad sign?

Any info you guys can give me will be great. For the past 2 nights I just have been :popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Nice Good luck with them. I had one like two years ago and it died like three weeks after I got it. I had no idea what I was doing when I bought it.

they loose there tails no problem.... just keep the tank warm and dark and it should eat in no time....

Mine ate less than five minutes after adding them to my main tank...

Not all rays, esp. retic's, will do that though. Just keep trying. Live blackworms, ghost shrimp, and cut up earthworms are all good first foods to try.

Finaly got sometime to update with pics, they are still not eating. But they are pretty active. Keeping the lights off as much as possible.

lucky you, i wanted retics so bad but i'm not going to get a big enough enclosure for them anytime soon

Yeah I know, I have been second thinking about removing some of there tankmates. None of them seem too aggressive. The Aro and clown knife pretty much leaves everyone alone. The pink con, severums, GT, and trimac eat everything. But I do feed alot so the rays get a chance to eat. But they show no interest yet. Hopefully n the next few days they will eat.
