If they look like baby pigeons (aka Rock Doves) they will be. I've raised dozens of baby Homing, Tumbler and Roller Pigeons and I never saw a cute baby.

lol never saw a baby they are ugly .

I think disc channel is having a "reality" show this summer on pigeon racing, etc.

Its about Mike Tysons birds who I have no interest in but the birds I like and features his birds and birds of others all over the states.

There is a pigeon place around here and those birds as you know can go for some bucks. Not the cheap NY pigeons which I thought all pigeons were.

Yeah they are seriously the ugly duckling of the bird world.

Interesting show. I never did try racing my pigeons but I did own a few pure bred racing homers. I just kept them for the heck of it. It was fun to let them out to fly around our farm.

You're right, there are some expensive pigeon breeds out there. The most I ever paid was $40 for a pair of Rollers. I use to sell pairs of Racing Homers for $25-$35 depending on the color. People seemed to think that was a good price around here.

They had one for $250 but most were much cheaper . I don't know what type it was but it was reg pigeon color .A few older men were interested in it.
I stopped in to get peacock food and was looking at the pigeons.

Here in Miami there is a big pigeon type group and imagine clubs as popular here.

They used them as only way to communicate in out of the way places in Latin America ,Carribeans like from towns to mountains and to avoid gvm't officials being able to monitor their conversations.
Here its a hobby but they are serious about it .
